Our Community Pledge

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our team members, our guests, and each and every member of our community. To keep all of us safe, we have implemented new health and safety protocols that go above and beyond our already strict standards.

USHG x Health Pass by CLEAR 

We have partnered with CLEAR to integrate their new Health Pass by CLEAR system for all employees to help implement our daily safety health checks and make working in our spaces safer and more comfortable for all. Before each shift, our team members complete a real-time health survey via CLEAR’s Health Pass app. Upon arrival, their temperature is taken via a touchless CLEAR pod or a thermometer onsite. With this partnership we can ensure all employees are fulfilling our daily health checks while protecting team members’ privacy. Over time, we hope our partnership with CLEAR will also allow us to add additional safety protocol as they become available.  

Air Filtration Technology 

Following all NYS mandates and under the guidance of HVAC specialists, we have upgraded the air filtration and purification systems at each of our restaurants to introduce both UV lighting and bi-polar ionization technologies. The UV light purifies the HVAC unit and filters themselves, while the bi-polar ionization technology releases positive and negative ions into the air, causing particles including bacteria, viruses, and mold spores to cluster together. These clusters are then large enough to be captured by filters with a MERV 8 rating or higher, which we have also installed in each of our restaurants.  

Redesigned Dining Rooms 

In partnership with Rockwell Group, we have reconfigured our dining room layouts, guest flow, and team member pathways to ensure proper social distancing. We’ve added plexiglass partitions to our host stands to minimize contact upon arrival and clear wayfinding signage in every space.  

Comprehensive Contact Tracing  

We have developed a comprehensive contact tracing protocol, going above and beyond local mandates and ensuring we can contact all guests in the event we need to. When dining with us, in addition to having your temperature taken, you will be asked to scan a QR code upon arrival that directs to a quick and simple contact form. We hope these additional measures will help us keep you updated in a timely manner.  We require our team to follow CDC quarantine guidelines and ask you to do the same before you join us.

We've developed specific health + safety standards for our suppliers that mirror our own practices. Every supplier certifies they've met these standards.

We check team member temperatures at the start of each shift. Team members must also complete a wellness checklist before starting work for the day.

We require our team members to wear the face masks and gloves we provide. You are required to wear a face-covering when you arrive and when our staff approaches your table.

We follow strict and thorough handwashing guidelines issued by the FDA and CDC. Team members change gloves regularly and at least every 30 minutes.

We disinfect all high-touchpoint surfaces at least once every hour with EPA-registered disinfectant. Hand sanitizer stations are available in our kitchens and dining rooms.

We've revised our menus to ensure proper social distancing in our kitchens. Our pickup stations are setup to allow guests and delivery partners to be 6' apart.

We've redesigned processes with the guidance of food safety experts. Our cooking stations have minimal interaction, and any shared equipment is sanitized between use.

We seal our packaging and delivery bags to ensure your food is safe after it leaves our kitchens. All of our pickup stations are contactless.

Team members are required to stay home if they do not feel well. To take care of them, we have expanded our benefits with emergency paid sick leave and family leave.
